Silverpine Lodge is surrounded by red deer, tahr, chamois.
 Silverpine Lodge is situated in the epicentre of their habitat. Fallow deer, wild boar, feral goats, pheasant, quail, rabbits, hare, and Canadian geese have also established themselves in the South Island of New Zealand.

When the European settlers of this country saw there was no game, they introduced them. Wapiti Elk, Virginia White Tail deer, pheasant, and quail arrived as a gift from US President Theodore Roosevelt. Chamois from the European Alps landed courtesy of the Emperor Franz Josef of Austria and Hungary. From the Highlands of Scotland and the great estates of England and Germany came the magnificent Red Deer.

The Himalayas and the Hindu Kush provided the progeny to the mighty sure footed tahr. Fallow deer, wild boar, feral goats, pheasant, quail, rabbits, hare, and Canadian geese have all established themselves in New Zealand. Silverpine Lodge is situated in the epicentre of their habitat. Helicopters are permitted to be used to access the high mountain ranges. You do not hunt from them. It will allow you to make the best use of your valuable holiday time. We arrange hunts for all species with our own professional guides.

Surrounded by High Country Stations and National Parks full of game hunting, the lodge is the perfect base camp for the hunter.
The prime season is the southern autumn: March through May. It is wise to book ahead and avoid disappointment.
